Your Work Knows More Than You Remember: Meet Viven

By
Mallun Yen

The fact that I have a good memory has saved me over the years. It may have developed because I have trouble organizing and finding things in folders or databases, and I’ve given up on my life goal to be inbox zero. But having so much information locked up in my head is not a good thing, and not everyone is fortunate enough to have a team that has built workarounds to compensate for one’s deficiencies.

While I may be an extreme, every company faces the same problem: critical knowledge lives in people's heads. When someone's unavailable or leaves the company entirely, that knowledge walks out. You're left scrambling through old emails, hoping someone remembers who handled what, or worse, starting from scratch.

The numbers tell the story. Fortune 500 companies lose $31.5 billion annually when employee knowledge walks out the door, according to IDC. But even day-to-day, the friction is real. Our Operator LPs consistently tell us that understanding what's actually happening across their organizations is a top challenge.

Enter Viven, which today announced its $35M seed round led by Khosla Ventures, Foundation Capital, FPV Ventures, and OpCo. Viven has built what they call Digital Twins for the enterprise - AI counterparts trained on each employee's actual work that can answer questions, provide context, and keep institutional knowledge accessible, the same way you would a coworker.

The Company

Viven creates personalized AI counterparts - Digital Twins - for each employee. These aren't generic chatbots. Each twin is trained on that person's real work: their emails, documents, meeting transcripts, Slack messages, and decisions. The twin learns how they think, what they know, and how they communicate.

You can query your own twin to prepare for meetings or catch up on what happened while you were away. Teammates can ask your twin questions when you're unavailable (with proper permissions). And companies can create team-level twins that capture the collective knowledge of entire departments or account teams.

Why You Should Pay Attention

The problem Viven solves is universal for knowledge workers: the person who has the answer isn't available. The project lead quit six months ago and no one documented their decisions. The sales team closed a deal but the implementation team has no context on what was promised.

Traditional solutions don't work. Company wikis go stale. CRMs are a pain to update. Search tools find documents but not context. Note-taking apps require someone to actually take notes and share them. Viven takes a different approach - it captures knowledge automatically as people work, then makes it accessible through natural conversation.

Here's what sets Viven apart:

  • Continuous learning: The twin updates automatically as you work. New emails, meetings, documents - all feed into your twin's understanding without any manual effort.
  • Deep context: Unlike search tools that return documents, Digital Twins understand relationships, decisions, and why things happened the way they did.
  • Privacy by design: Role-based access controls mean your twin only shares what both parties are authorized to see. Full audit trails track every query and response.
  • Enterprise deployment: Companies can run Viven in their own cloud or on-premises, meeting strict security requirements.

The Details

Viven's platform works across all the tools people already use - email, Slack, Teams, Zoom, Google Drive, and more. The system ingests communications in near real-time, building a semantic understanding of each person's work, expertise, and relationships. For executives and teams alike, it means clarity and consistency across departments.

The interface is conversational. Ask your twin "What are my priorities today?" or query a colleague's Twin with "What's the status of the Acme project?" The system can summarize meetings, draft follow-up emails, surface key stakeholders, and provide historical context that would otherwise require hours of digging.

The use cases are already proving out:

  • Sales teams: Brief reps before calls, draft proposals with customer context, ensure smooth handoffs between team members
  • Engineering & product: Preserve architectural decisions, accelerate onboarding, maintain continuity when people move to new projects
  • Customer success: Track account health, flag emerging issues, ensure no customer question goes unanswered
  • Leadership: Get real-time organizational visibility, understand what's blocking progress, make decisions with full context

Why We're Invested

CEO Ashutosh Garg and CTO Varun Kacholia are repeat entrepreneurs who've already founded two unicorns. Ashutosh built BloomReach and Eightfold AI, both reaching significant scale. Varun led YouTube Search and Facebook Newsfeed AI, bringing world-class machine learning expertise.

Eightfold incubated the product and were its first champions and Viven is already seeing enterprise traction. When Genpact, a 120,000-person public company, deployed the product to thousands of employees, they cut onboarding time in half and accelerated critical decisions across their distributed teams.

The market opportunity is big. The digital twin market is projected to grow from $25 billion in 2024 to $156 billion by 2030. While much of that is currently industrial applications, employee-focused digital twins are gaining serious attention - 70% of HR leaders plan to invest in digital employee twin technology within two years.

What's Next

Viven emerged from stealth in October 2025 with $35M in seed funding. The team is focused on expanding their enterprise customer base, refining the product based on real-world usage, and building out their sales and customer success teams.

While the use cases go beyond work (think about all the dentist appointments and school emails you can get a bullet point summary of in a snap!), for now, the focus is enterprise. For companies struggling with knowledge retention, slow decision-making, and the friction of distributed teams, Viven offers something genuinely new: an always-available extension of every employee's expertise.
